I smell its sweet scent through the breeze on my back deck
I stand waiting for the dark clouds to officially cover the sun
The sun is gone and I feel the first droplet fall onto my arm
Here it comes, the rain, it feels so indescribable
As comes pouring down around me, I smile
It soaks through my clothes when I finally go dancing in it
It washes everything away, it's just me and the rain
In this moment I need nothing else
As it slows down I breathe in, the smell intoxicating
It clears as so fast and I just lie on the wet grass
As I breathe in the after rain smell, again I smile
"See" I say to him "there is just nothing like it."

Silver
Water dances in the rain
Silver sparkles against grey skies
Two figures in silhouette
Clinging to one another
Fingers entwined in the cold
Freezing skin against freezing skin
Silver sparkles on pale cheeks
Voices cut through the downpour
Harsh calls in the liquid silence
Black and white words
Love and hate words
Cries of loss, despair and leaving
Whispers vanishing into the ether
Silver sparkles on pale cheeks
Pleas in the storm
Desperate promises falling like the rain
Numb touch losing grip
One step closer
No apologies and another step
Silent crash into blue grey oblivion
Silver sparkles on pale cheeks

Naught but Friends
You
What can I say about you?
I love You is a start;
I always have,
And it hurts so much
You've ripped up my heart,
And taped it back together,
And ripped it up again
Without even knowing it.
You aren't healthy for me,
Sending me spiraling towards my own dark demise.
A demise I can not fight.
Every time we talk
My hearts races,
And I get anxious.
I've become addicted to that.
That feeling of bliss,
That almost panicky feeling,
Like I'm falling, but I'm not going to hit the ground.
But there's always the flip side
The thoughts that never go away
Do You love me back?
Do You even
Ink flows through your metallic veins as it does through mine. From your silver mouth it spreads as you kiss your bride in white. She smiles from under her lined veil, a sweet gaze, as you bend to kiss her again, and again. You stain her stark white with dripping black as you both fold into the embrace of each other.
I see the shy smile that escapes your own inky black lips before ther touch against hers, and I smile myself. I pronounce your darkness bonded in marriage to that beautifully plain white, and I exhale in pleasure.
This is why I write.
