Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3

Do there have to be particular guidelines to the person you link? For example, is the person you're linking have to be someone who shares similar mediums of photography (e.g-landscapes)? Does it have to be another member of this group, or just a friend, or even someone's art you find at random and like and just want to link?

You can Link to whatever your little heart desires. Whatever strikes your fancy. You can Link a landscape photo to a traditional or digital piece, or even to a piece of literature if you like. It's up to you. Your only limitation is that it must be artwork (other than your own) on dA. Easy, yes?

2 questions:

1. Since it doesn't exactly follow the guidelines, are we alright with "ninja linking" (linking without telling the person you're linking to so they get a nice surprise when there's new faves/watchers)?

2. Do we have a folder for artisan crafts that I am failing to see? Lots of awesome craft people out there who I'd love to get some exposure for (ironically found in many cases while trying to price my own works when I started LOL)

1. LOVE the phrase! lol 'ninja linking' is just fine. You've helped us see someone else's work too so it's wonderful! NON-ninja Linking just means that the person might look back at your work too.

And now that I think about it, it'll make sure he/she finds out about our little idea here! But ninjas are good! Oh so good. lol

2. Miscellaneous
Yes, it's a shame we don't have one dedicated to it. There are oh so many categories which just have to fall under Misc. for now. Volume of input might help make a change in the future though so...Link away and have fun.
